Summer at River Rock
Beginning Sunday, May 28 through Sunday, September 10, River Rock Church is shifting to ONE Worship Service only at 9:48am. We’re calling it 9:48 “For” Community.
In 2016, River Rock trialed one summer worship service using the 9:48 time and theme. Earlier this year, we conducted a survey in which all River Rock attendees had the opportunity to share their opinion. The feedback the staff and board heard was that attendees enjoyed one service during the summer months as well as the unique service time (and purpose behind it). With this in mind, we are excited to gather as a community again this summer at 9:48!
One service time enables us to safely and fully staff our Kids On The Rock program infants through 5th graders) all summer long. In 2016, we witnessed kids and families enjoying this ministry and anticipate the same response in 2017.
Luke 9:48 says “Then He said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.” Kids are important to Jesus and important to the life of River Rock Church.
Another benefit of our one service summer plan is community. Let’s get to know one another better, build relationships and have fun! Let’s be inviting to guests and warmly welcome them.
We are also excited to participate in and host several events in our local community. To see a list of events and ministry opportunities this summer, see the reverse side of this document.
With any questions about our summer worship service or summer schedule, please feel free to contact the office at either firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 616-874-0400. Keep up to date on all events at www.riverrockcommunity.com or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/riverrockcommunity.
A Note About Parking:
Beginning May 28, we will have parking attendants in our parking lot. Our goal is to help everyone park and enter the building safely each week. As a reminder, please do not park under the canopy in the front of the building so emergency response vehicles are able to gain easy access to the building. Please respect handicap parking spots. There is handicap parking in the front parking lot and also by the side entrance Finally, if you are able, please park toward the back of the lot to ensure there are available spaces near the front for visitors and guests on Sundays. Thank you!
