The project is complete, the good guys have won, and now they take time to celebrate and thank God, kind of. As the people read from God’s word (in a way they have not in 100’s of year) they are gripped by the words, and feel a stirring in them to respond to God with all. Head, hands and heart.

In more than one place in the gospel of John, Jesus used this word abide. Abide in me, as Jesus abides in the Father. Stay connected, apart from God we cannot bear fruit. In John and other places in scripture we get a picture that connection to God happens intentionally, through habits and practices.
