We are going to start our series where it all began, Pentecost. Jesus had promised a long awaited helper for the disciples (and us) who would fill them and guide them in his absence. We read that the Holy Spirit is a helper in the ministry that God has called us to in this world.
Easter is this watershed day for Christians to remember. The day Jesus overcame the power of death, the day he changed our relationship with God, and each other. So often the good news of Easter focuses on heaven (as it should), but leaves out the fact that the news of Jesus’ death and resurrection embolden his disciples to change how they were living that very day.
Who is Jesus? Books, lectures, and more try to answer this question in so many ways. The crowds struggled with it, his disciples struggled with it, and the religious leaders of the day did too. On Palm Sunday, some of how Jesus entered Jerusalem and responded to the crowds helps us to get a picture of who Jesus was, and what his mission in this world was focused on.
Matthew 25 gives us the parable of the sheep and goats. It shows us what it means to love and have compassion for the “least”. Who are the least? Join us Sunday as we talk through our responsibility to show compassion in all circumstances.
