I want you to take a moment and think about what you hear on the news, listen to, or read. How much of it is focused on what isn’t—what’s wrong with the world, what bad thing has happened, or what poor decision a party or politician made?

That same negativity often leaks into our speech, our posts, and even our churches. One of the biggest criticisms of American Christianity in recent years is that we are mostly known for what we’re against—and who we’re against.

At River Rock, we want to say loud and clear that naming and standing behind what we are for is more impactful—and more biblical—than constantly focusing on what we’re against.

So every single week this fall, we’re going to plant a new yard sign and talk on Sunday about something we are for—something we see clearly in Scripture and in the heart of God.

If you’re hoping for a message about the latest hot topics or culture wars, this probably isn’t the place or the message for you. Instead, we’re going to focus on God, people, and our community.

We believe we’ve been given a message that is good news and filled with hope—and that we’ve been called to be a people of hope in a hurting world.
