Growing up I had a narrow picture of fasting: don’t eat food for some period, which as a student sounded challenging. In Matthew 6 and all over scripture we get a rich picture of fasting as an opportunity to grow closer to God, to challenge the status quo in our lives, and dig deeper into prayer.
Jesus reminds us that the true condition of a life is revealed by its fruit. Good roots produce good fruit, and authentic faith eventually becomes visible through character and actions. This message will help us examine what our lives are producing and how we can remain rooted in Christ.
Jesus teaches that God is a generous Father who invites us to ask, seek, and knock with confidence. While the world often operates from fear and scarcity, God’s kingdom is marked by trust in His provision and goodness.
Jesus speaks directly to our anxieties and fears, reminding us that our Heavenly Father knows what we need. Rather than being consumed by worry, we are invited to trust God and seek His kingdom first. We’ll look at how wonder, gratitude, and trust can replace fear and striving.
